The Sweet Life

La Dolce Vita is one of my favorite sayings, which means “The Sweet Life” in Italian.
La Dolce Vita is about cherishing life’s sweetness and embracing all it has to offer. Life should be savored, and every experience should be a delicacy. Taking time out each day to show gratitude for the simple and extraordinary things is the sacred ingredient we all should incorporate into our recipes.

Cooking is one of my ‘Dolce Vita’ activities. I am passionate about cooking, and it shows when you taste my food. I nurture all my recipes. Cooking is a constant in my life and has served many purposes. It has been my savior or (savor) and taught me how to embrace my imperfections and create something delicious out of them. It empowers me. When I feel down, lonely, and in the darkness, I step into my kitchen, and immediately I am brought back to light.

I’ve had plenty of epiphanies while chopping vegetables and stirring my sauces. I realized that I am textured in flavors: delicious, bitter, delectable, tasty, flavorful, aromatic, delicious, spicy, sweet, subtle, and bursting with zest.

The saying, “We aren’t getting out of here alive,” has been on my mind for quite some time now. It reminds me to stay in the moment and live every day as if it were my last. So if you want that extra plate of pasta or another glass of wine, DO IT. Live La Dolce Vita!
